Seismic Analysis Result Display(Note: For complete details about AxisVM seismic calculation methods and analysis capability, refer to v7.0 AxisVM User's Manual.)Seismic analysis is completed using the Response Spectrum Analysis Method in 2D and 3D.
The first AxisVM process is to calculate the undamped vibration frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes. The program generates the equivalent static loads for each vibration mode shape which are then applied to the model in a static analysis. Then internal force results obtained for each mode shape are summed using the method described in design code specifications. Seismic analysis can be performed according to the following design codes:
Multiple load cases are created which will contain the positive and negative maximum displacements and forces summed up from seismic effects in X, Y and Z directions
Setting the design code specified parameters for the response spectrum linear analysis is available by parameter dialog box:
Seismic parameters, response spectra and combination methods are selected in a dialog box and include the option for automatic combination methods:
Any combination of Graphic, tabular, or animated analysis results can be selected.
