AxisVM Reinforced Concrete Design Add-on Modules

Concrete design modules can be ordered for specific design needs:

bullet

RC 1: Plates, membranes and shells (Eurocode 2)

bullet

NEN 1: Plates (NEN 6720)

bullet

DIN 1: Plates, membranes, and shells (DIN 1045)

bullet

RC 2: Columns and beams (Eurocode 2)

bullet

 RC12: Combination of RC1 + RC2

These design modules allow the user to integrate the model calculation results into designs for the reinforcement of concrete components according to Eurocode 2, NEN 6720 and DIN145/1045, SIA 162, MSz, STAS:

Plates, Membranes, Shells

Surface reinforcement can be calculated for these elements based on the 3rd stress condition. AxisVM allows the user to specify in a dialog box the concrete properties, the steel rebar properties and the concrete cover. The program calculates the tension and compression reinforcements needed and displays results in Tables:  Load case/combination, Envelope, Critical combination.

Crack opening calculations are based on the 2nd stress condition.  Users can assign the material properties of the concrete and steel rebars as well as the concrete thickness of the design model. The crack opening results can be shown for the centroid of the reinforcement or in the extreme fiber of the concrete. In addition, direction angle and distances are displayed in the results table.

Beams

Beam reinforcement design in AxisVM is performed based on the 3rd stress state. Beams can be modeled by beam or rib finite elements. AxisVM allows the user to make a selection to specify different steel grades for longitudinal reinforcement and stirrups.
Axial forces on beams can be modeled using the column design module. Bending and shear forces are analyzed separately. Support segments can be selected for exclusion from the model and all internal forces are then linearly interpolated within the separate segments.

Beam properties can be user defined in a parameters dialog box:

Beam shear can be calculated by two methods, selected by the user. Upper and lower reinforcement is calculated for each load case and cross section and for the value of the moment shifting.

Columns

The calculation of the reinforcement of column elements is based on the 3rd stress state. Nominal load-moment strength interactions, in a 3D surface diagram are calculated and the results are compared graphically and in numerical tables to the internal forces.

AxisVM allows the user to specify the parameters of the load-moment interactions and the eccentricity increments based on the buckling parameters are displayed in the internal force check table.

Users can set the display modes on various interaction diagrams for the graphic results of the column check.

Numerical tables displays the maximum values of the internal forces of the selected column elements and calculates the eccentricities values, which are shown in the tables.
